How it usually works

The target lives in a spreadsheet only the owner opens

The annual target is divided by twelve, so December gets the same target as February.

The ranking is done by hand once a month, and someone is always missing.

With the module

Set it once a year; follow it every day

  • The year’s curve is yours
  • The target goes down by salesperson or customer by customer
  • Tracking answers the right question
  • Actuals arrive on their own
What you can track

Before the year starts

  • Seasonality curve on twelve cards, with a live total
  • Annual target per salesperson, split automatically along the curve
  • Customer-by-customer targets, going through the salesperson’s accounts
  • A director who sells can stay out of the team target without leaving revenue

Every day

  • Period target × sold, with percentage and a color bar
  • Business days left and the pace needed per day
  • Month calendar with each day’s sales and the running total
  • Target × sales per customer, compared with the same period last year

At the meeting

  • Rankings by customer, item, salesperson, product group and month
  • Markup and discount given, right inside the ranking
  • The code the customer uses for each product, in the item ranking
  • A PDF that asks whether you want to hide markup and discount before printing

FAQ

I entered the target and the tracking still shows zero.

The step of closing the year is missing — that’s what splits the annual target across the twelve months along the curve. Until then the system doesn’t make up a split — and it tells you what’s missing.

What if I don’t want to use seasonality?

Then the target is entered month by month, by hand. What the system doesn’t do is quietly divide by twelve: either you give it the curve, or you give it the twelve amounts.

Can the salesperson change their own target?

No. Setting targets is up to administrators; salespeople see their own targets and their own pace.

I have a partner who sells. Do they count toward the team target?

Only if you want. There is a setting that takes the person out of the target total while keeping their sales in revenue, the rankings and the dashboard — and they can still see their own numbers.

Does a salesperson who left the company stay in the ranking?

They no longer appear in the rankings or in the selection lists. Their past sales remain in the detailed reports, because removing them would distort the period’s revenue.

Can I show the ranking to a customer?

Yes: when you generate the PDF, the system asks whether you want to hide the markup and discount columns. The same report works internally and externally.
