A day in this industry

The internet goes down and the line grows

The internet goes down on Saturday morning, and the cashier jots sales on a notepad to enter on Monday.

The owner only finds out whether the store did well when the accountant closes the month.

What a store needs from a system

A register that doesn’t stop

  • Sales saved on the register computer, with or without internet
  • Syncing with no duplicate sales, in the order they happened
  • A shortcut grid that learns that register’s best sellers
  • Quick customer sign-up without leaving the sale

A drawer that balances

  • Opening with a change float suggested by the previous closing
  • Cash drops and cash additions recorded, with the shift history
  • Closing checked by payment method
  • Receipt reprint from the sales search

Counter inventory

  • Register sales deducting stock the same way as a regular sale
  • A discrepancy report when two registers sell the last unit
  • Stock count with a scanner and a list of what hasn’t been counted yet
  • Minimum and maximum per item, turning into purchase suggestions

Customers who come back

  • Cashback with rules per store and an instant simulation
  • Store credit for trusted customers, without a notebook
  • Counter customers in the same records as the rest of the system
  • Offline sales uploaded exactly once when the connection comes back

The store’s results

  • Revenue, sales and average ticket for the period
  • Peak hours: the time of day when the store really sells
  • Average markup by product group
  • ABC curve and profitability by product

FAQ

Type your question and press Enter: the answer opens right below, in the list.

What if the internet goes down in the middle of a sale?

Nothing changes on screen: the sale is saved on the register computer from the start. When the connection comes back, the queue uploads on its own, exactly once and in the order it happened.

Can I close the register without internet?

Not today: closing requires a connection. An open register keeps selling with the internet down — what you can’t do is end the shift offline.

And the receipt, with the internet down?

The sale is saved on the register and the customer leaves with a printed slip; when the connection comes back, the sale uploads exactly once. Tax documents are country-specific — the US edition, with sales tax, is being prepared with our founding customers.

Does the register talk to my card machine?

Don’t count on it: card payments are entered as a payment method and checked separately at closing. If a direct link to the card machine is a deal-breaker for you, we’ll look at your equipment before you sign.

I have more than one store.

Each register is an identified terminal, the back office separates by operator and cashback has rules per store. Reports open by store or add them all up.

Will the cashier be able to poke around the rest of the system?

Not while the register is open: the screen becomes a terminal, with no menu. There is an explicit button to go back to the system, and the sale in progress survives.
