A day in this industry

The product expires on the shelf and sells out online

Photos and descriptions are entered twice: in the system and in the online store’s dashboard.

A customer complains about a reaction and nobody knows which lot the bottle came from.

With Develop

One inventory, with lot and expiration, selling on every channel

  • The lot comes in with the invoice
  • The dashboard shows what expires
  • The online store sells the same stock
  • The invoice comes out of the order
What a cosmetics company needs from a system

Lot and expiration

  • Lot entered on receipt, while checking the invoice
  • A dashboard with what expires, next to what isn’t moving
  • Cost of the lot that went out, not of the last purchase
  • Stock adjustment by lot, recalculated on the spot

An online store that doesn’t sell what you don’t have

  • Prices and stock synced with the online store
  • The total stock goes out — running it twice adds nothing
  • Line-by-line comparison between the system’s stock and the store’s
  • Bulk photo upload from the product records to the store

Salons, resellers and the counter

  • Price list by profile: salon, reseller, consumer
  • Sample, trial or consignment orders, kept apart from sales
  • Checkout at your own store, with rule-based cashback
  • Sales rep orders coming in through the sales force app

Invoicing and returns

  • The customer’s price list carried from the order to the invoice
  • Product classification and origin on the product record
  • Receipt printed at your own store’s register
  • Returns issued and received, with their own report

FAQ

Type your question and press Enter: the answer opens right below, in the list.

Does the system pick the lot that expires first on its own?

It doesn’t choose for you. The lot is entered on receipt and the dashboard shows what is close to expiring; which lot goes out is up to whoever does the picking, with the information in plain view. Automatic picking by expiration isn’t built in.

Does it connect to my online store?

One online store platform is connected today: prices and stock move in both directions, and what goes there is the total stock, not the difference. For Shopify or any other platform, ask — we’ll tell you frankly what is ready and what isn’t.

Can I tell which lot the bottle the customer complained about came from?

If the shipment was recorded with the lot, yes: the tracking shows each lot coming in and going out. That’s why the lot is asked for while checking the supplier invoice, not at the end.

Does the system handle registration with the health authority?

No. Regulatory matters — registration, product notification, labeling — stay with your company’s licensed technical lead. The system keeps the lot, the expiration date and any document you attach to the product.

I sell to salons at a different price than to consumers.

The price list is per customer or per profile, and the order is created with it. Samples and consignment go out as their own order types, kept apart from sales.

I also have a physical store.

The store checkout keeps selling even with the internet down, and each sale deducts from the same inventory as the rest of the operation. Cashback has rules per store, and closing is checked by payment method.
